Hamilton, Butler, Ohio |
Gender |
Female |
Died |

Benton, Knox, Missouri |
Buried |
05 Jul 1915 |
Rutledge, Scotland, Missouri |
Notes |
- She is recorded as "Mary Jane" on some histories, but I've found no records of her being named anything other than "Jane".
- In addition to the census records above, she also appears in the 1900 and 1910 censuses as a widow. Both show her in Rutledge, Scotland, Missouri. In 1900 she is 76 and living with a granddaughter L. Nees (it may not be Nees - the writing is very poor). In 1910, she is 86 and living with an Eva Vogt (age 20 from California). She lived to be over 91 years old, outliving many of her 10 children.

 | William Arehart Family on 1860 Census 1860 Census showing William M. Arehart and family, including Gasner G. Arehart. |
 | A Brief History of the Garrigus Family This 11-page summary provides brief and relevant details into five generations of the Garrigues/Garrigus family - Matthieu Garrigues, Jacob Garrigus, David Garrigus, Jacob Garrigus, and Jane Garrigus - with insight into earlier ancestors, the name "Garrigues", and interesting tidbits.
I compiled this document from other known resources, primarily the works of Robert Garrigus, to be a brief history of the family with relevant details into my direct progenitors. Please inform me of updates or corrections.

 | Jane Garrigus Arehart - Death Certificate Show's Jane's death on July 3, 1915 in Benton, Knox, Missouri at age 91 years 3 months. Cause of death: Carcinoma of Rectum (yikes!) |
 | William & Jane Arehart Family - 1870 Census Benton, Knox, Missouri. July 1870.
Shows William and Jane Arehart with children William Arehart (17), Florence Arehart (15), Alice Arehart (13), Levi Arehart (9), and Pliny C. Arehart(7). |
 | William & Jane Arehart Family - 1880 Census Benton Township, Knox, Missouri. June 15-19, 1880.
Shows William Arehart (66), Jane Garrigus Arehart (56), Florence Fee (25 - married daughter to John Fee), Alice Arehart (23), P.C. Arehart (16 - son), Theodore Simpson (8 - grandson), and Jennie Fee (1 - grandaughter, daughter of Florence).
P.C. Arehart is almost certainly Pliny Crume Arehart.
It's quite possible that their son-in-law John Fee had died by 1880, thus daughter Florence and granddaughter Jennie were living there. |
