Why this site? When we began our family history, we quickly learned that family history work was difficult. It could best be defined as the art of perpetuating rumors and the science of doing so in innovative ways. We quickly found that much of the 'accepted' history is incorrect or incomplete. It was nearly impossible to find original sources, documents, or evidence. This site is our way of compiling and sharing an accurate and complete family history. We are doing our best to ensure that all information published here is reasonably correct. We are not simply adding the published histories, but are trying to verify that all information is accurate, and we will provide verification sources wherever possible. We hope this will be a fun, useful, and informative place for us and all of you to learn about our ancestors. |

7 September 2009 - Started this site and began entering data. 23 January 2010 - After four months of research, the line from my Grandpa Smith back is now completed (well, as completed as I believe is possible with current records). Please let me know if you have additions or corrections. 23 January 2010 - Added a list of my Mormon pioneer ancestors (all 39 known direct Mormon ancestors who crossed the plains 1847 through 1868). |
